How do I join?

Anyone aged 18 and over can join to enjoy the full benefits of membership to SBS. 

Our club run at 7pm starting outside Herbert's Yard is free so anyone can come and get involved.

If you wish to join the SBS, membership (first time joiners) for 2024-25 costs £70 for the year and those renewing their membership costs £54. 

Membership includes:

• Coaching and guidance
• Access to coached track sessions Monday's at Abbey Stadium for the whole year
• Fully insured whilst running with the club
• Club vest or t-shirt
• Affiliated discount to cross country / road races
• Entry into a raffle with a chance to secure a London Marathon place
• Discounts off retailers and race organisers

Membership runs from April to March. You can join at any time but whenever you join, your membership will need renewing at the end of March.

Can I run with you before I decide to join?

Yes! You can trial South Birmingham Striders for a couple of weeks and if you like us (and we hope you do!) you can become a member at any time. 

We just ask that you fill in the SBS Trial Registration Form before coming, which can be found here, https://form.jotform.com/232184675739064

What days do you run?

Spring/Summer Schedule:

Monday's at 7pm - Track Session, Abbey Stadium, Redditch, B97 6EJ

Club Run - 7pm – Herbert's Yard Longbridge 

Before each run we'll explain the route/course, and will have someone up at the front to keep the group on course.

Where does my membership fees go?

To England Athletics and SBS. 

What goes to EA? 

- £17 goes to our governing body England Athletics (EA) to affiliate you individually to EA as a club athlete. You get ‘affiliated member’ discounts on race entries and discounts with brands. 

- An annual club subscription fee to England Athletics. 

What are club funds spent on? How do I benefit?

- Members will get a club vest or t-shirt which is included in the membership fee. This is unlike many other running clubs who charge additional for club vests!

- Membership also includes access to track sessions at Abbey Stadium every Monday for the entire year!

- Running the website and associated costs.

- Training of volunteers which enables more people to participate in club runs. 

- Affiliated club discounts off of cross country and road races.
